I got into a juried art show! My
double-weave ribcage from last semester got in and it's just too awesome.
I am so excited and stressed about it. I've spent so much time these past several days fixing the stupid thing. I had it rolled up in some paper in my closet all summer, and I unrolled it a couple weeks ago to stare at and ended up re-waxing all of the fringe. All 450 4ft ends. I finished nearly 3 this morning... So now I have to make a hanging template for it, paint some nails white, and re-roll the thing carefully so it'll fit in the mailing tube I got. And I need to be done before 2 today so I can take it home and hopefully give it to my dad. and I still need to write the hanging instruction for it.
akdsjfdk this is harder than I thought. But it's good that it's happening, and that I'm learning how this whole gallery thing works before I'm really out in the world. And I'm glad I already knew to add "Please hand remove any bits of lint or other debris from the fringe and carefully hand comb it straight" to the end of the instructions, because some galleries are idiots.
